Comments: My son’s school (Imagine Charter School in Weston, Florida) had the flag of the United States on a pathetic, rusted, loose flag pole. Only after I complained, did they move the flag to the nicer flagpole where the school’s flag had been flying (my chief complaint was that the flag of the United States ought to be treated with more respect than they were showing it.) Now that our flag is flying on a proper flag pole, it seems that they’ve switched to a much smaller flag. Honestly, I don’t know what it is with this school (at one point, they didn’t even bother flying the U.S. flag - I complained, of course). Is there any way to provide them with a proper flag of our country so that it may fly as it was meant to be flown? Thanks for any consideration you show us.
RESPONSE….
Good morning Dianne,
Thanks for your comment.
Shame on them and cheers to you, Dianne! This situation is not uncommon and is a large part of why I created the program www.adoptaschoolflagpole.com A lot of apathy exsists and many people ignore the problems of rusty poles, empty poles ragged Flags,Flags too small, etc Ofttimes budget constraints are the reason and patriotism suffers.
Over a period of time, after our small company had donated numerous Flags for grandchildren’s schools, and personal requests,
we just could not continue to bear this major expense.
As you saw on the website, this free U.S. Flags for schools program is designed to find sponsors ( local businesses, organizations, individuals and/or alumnus, willing to provide a proper size U.S. Flag to a school of their choice annually.
First, my company, Franklin Flags, requires approval from the superintendent or principal that he/she will accept a gift of a Flag annually. Next we need the height of the pole(s) and of course the address to ship the Flag(s). We then communicate with local potential donors and find sponsors. Once a sponsor of good repute is found , we notify the principal and ask for a letter of approval be sent to the donor and copy emailed to us.
Many times people hear of the need before we contact anyone and volunteer their contribution or know of some potential donor and communicate with us. One instance was a cub scout group in Wareham, MA !!
We, “THIS COUNTRY”, needs more dedicated patriotic citizens (like you, Dianne) Keep up the good work !!!
Respectfully & patriotically,
Bob Long

When you observe a flagpole without a Flag, a tatterered or torn Flag, a Flag that is much too small (or too big). Communicate directly with us.We will then start the process of securing a sponsered free Flag for the flagpole you report. Keep in mind, we will also do our best to provide schoolroom Flags where needed.

HOW WOULD YOU LIKE EVERYONE IN YOUR COMMUNITY TO KNOW , THE U.S.FLAG, FLYING FROM THE SCHOOL OF YOUR CHOICE’S FLAGPOLE, IS DONATED BY YOU ANNUALLY?
We are looking for businesses that would like to adopt/sponser a school flagpole and provide a new U.S. Flag each year. We’ve all seen flagpoles with no Flag, a ragged Flag, a Flag too small or maybe too big? NOT GOOD!!The schools are doing their best, we even have teachers, students and staff buying Flags with their own money. NOT FAIR!!WE NEED YOUR HELP!!
You’ve seen our purpose & goal. Your business could help by sponsoring a Flag annually for any school of your choice. (or adoptaschoolflagpole.com could choose for you) the cost would range from $95. to $175. annually for each pole. (Unless the pole was exceptionally tall)
Call it “Civic Pride”, “Patriotism”, or just a plain contribution to your local school.
Of course there are the benefits derived from potential new clients or customers.
Every schoolchild and their parents, as well as those who hear about your company’s annual patriotic gesture might reward your business, by giving you their business?!
Your business will also be advertised in the local media as a sponser of the new Flag at the local school. This will be shown as a “IN APPRECIATION” notice, listing all schools and each donor.
If you can share any other benefits we may have overlooked, please let us know.
